AMRIT PRADHAN UPDATES

Save this Life!

My brother Amrit Pradhan, Age - 24

A caring brother, a loving son, a helping friend and a true patriot.

He was troubled by the avalanche of issues that this COVID pandemic has brought along. This motivated him to resign from his corporate job and take up UPSC preparations to one day be able to bring about a change and structure.

Now, COVID has disrupted our family and put him in a critical condition. He’s been admitted to the hospital (AIIMS Bhubaneswar) since 2nd May 2021 right after our parents were. He has been on ventilator support for the last 20 days since 12th May 2021. Severe COVID infection has caused infections of Pneumonia, Septicemia and a major fungal infection in addition to many other complications that take root in his body and are the primary cause of trouble currently.

The doctors have suggested that getting him an ECMO (Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) support is the only course of action left with a near-certain Lung Transplant as the next step. ECMO support will relieve him of the ventilator and give his lungs a chance to heal. It has now become essential to his survival. Since there are no ECMO support and Lungs transplant facilities available at the moment we are forced to take him to a facility either in Chennai or Hyderabad.

We want him to survive, but this comes with a huge financial burden and stress. The projected costs involved in the operation are:

  • ECMO supported Airlift to an ECMO+Lung Transplant facility - Rs. 30-40 Lacs

  • Daily ICU+ECMO charges at a hospital (30 days x Rs 2-3 Lacs) - 60 Lacs

  • Lung Transplant - Rs. 60 Lacs and upwards

  • Post transplant hospitalisation (25 days x 1.5L) - 37.5 Lacs

  • Miscellaneous - Can’t really put a number to it

Estimated treatment duration: 2 months and upwards.

Estimated Cost(Minimum): Rs 2 Crores and upwards

This is considering he is in critical care support for the minimum of duration of 2 months.

I'm writing to you with a special appeal - While we're doing our best to fund the sky-rocketing medical expenses, we need your help.

Please let this Hero survive. Please let him get a life to help others and serve his purpose. I need him. We need him. He needs to survive!

Please make this MIRACLE happen.

Please help us. Please invest in his health.

We would love for you to follow the below website for updates and stay in touch with him once he survives this ordeal.

If you do then please subscribe on the website so that we can get you on a video call with Amrit when he recovers.

Thank You!

Manisha
